2.  Antique Portuguese 833 Silver Repoussé Dish – Oporto hallmarks

Item Price: $145

Item Description: Antique Portuguese 833 Silver Repoussé Dish.

Beautifully decorated with a Castle in the centre with wide leaf and flower border.

Made in Oporto, Portugal.

Hallmarked on the lower edge with the Wild Boar square hallmarked with chamfered corners indicating Oporto. This particular hallmark was used from 1886 to 1938. It is also marked with what appears to be a maker’s mark. This dish possibly predates the Oporto hallmark – it may be an older piece that was re-hallmarked at a later date.

Diameter: 5 1/4 inches

Height: 1/2 of an inch

There are no monograms.

Weight: 70.4 grams

Minor overall tarnish. We would be happy to polish this for you.

Victorian era, circa late 19th century – possibly a bit later.

A lovely antique Canadian souvenir Photograph Frame.

Beautiful Enamel Ontario Provincial Crest at the top.

Gilt Metal “Ring” photo frame.

The Glass and Easel Support are intact- it works very well.

All parts are Original.

The Frame displays very well – it stands up straight and is very solid.

It came with this old photograph which we quite like.

4.  Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver, Amethyst, Turquoise, & Coral Necklace

Item Description: This is a really cool vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Necklace.

Circa 1960s or so.

The clasp is marked “925 MA 122”.

Fantastic design – Aztec meets Mid Century Modern.

Each link is set with a cabochon Amethyst, Four Turquoises and one rectangular piece of Coral.

An awesome necklace!

Wearable Length: about 16 1/2 inches (about 42 cm)

Some of the coral pieces have some damage.

Item Description: Collection of 4 Sterling Silver & Gold Nugget Yukon Souvenir Spoons.

From Left to Right:

1) Roden Bros. Toronto. Applied Gold Nugget. The bowl is engraved “Yukon”.
Gilded / Gold washed Handle.
4 1/4 inches in length.
Marked “Sterling” with the Roden Bros. trademark.
Minor tarnish and small dark spot on back of bowl.

2) English spoon. Hallmarked Sheffield, 1968.
Applied Gold Nugget and “Yukon” emblem. Gilded / Gold washed handle.
4 1/8 inches in length.
Minor tarnish.

3) Miner’s Pan with Nugget. The bowl is engraved “St. Paul’s Dawson”. Gilded / Gold washed handle. 4 inches in length.
Marked “Sterling” with maker’s mark.

4) International Sterling “Enchantress” pattern.
Applied Gold Nugget. Gilded / Gold washed handle.
Bowl is engraved “Whitehorse”. 4 1/8 inches in length.
Marked “International Sterling Enchantress”.
Minor tarnish.

6.  Victorian Sir John A. Macdonald Transferware Plate- circa 1886

Item Description: Victorian Sir John A. Macdonald Transferware Plate.

Circa 1886 – Victorian era.

Fine transferware image of Sir John A. MacDonald seated wearing a fur trimmed coat.

An early Canadian Coat of Arms is above.

Maple Leaf border.

Octagonal shape.

Length: 9 5/8 inches across.

Overall crazing. The centre has dark staining.

Minor roughness to one edge.

The gold trim is almost completely worn away.

Otherwise Good Condition.

7.  English Victorian Sterling Silver Belt Buckle Bracelet – Birmingham, 1882

Item Price: $95

Item Description: English Victorian Sterling Silver Belt Buckle Bracelet.

Hallmarked Deakin & Francis, Birmingham, 1882 on the inside (both halves of the bracelet are hallmarked, just as they should be).

The front has an applied three dimensional belt and buckle that are beautifully engraved.

The back is plain.

Wearable Circumference: approximately 6 3/8 inches (16 cm). This is Approximate. Please contact us if you need a more precise measurement.

Thickness / Width: 3/4 of an inch (1.9 cm)

No monograms.

The hinge and clasp work very well – it closes tightly and securely.

Weight: 28 grams

The buckle has been applied to the front of the bracelet and is connected in six places- lead solder is visible in these areas. It was probably repaired at some point. However, it is still perfectly functional.

There are some minor pin-sized dents (nothing major at all), overall surface scratches and wear from age, use, and handling, and minor overall tarnish.

Otherwise, it is in Very Good Condition.

8.  Fantastic Inuit Carved Whalebone Carving

Item Price: $295

Item Description: Fantastic Inuit Carved Whalebone Carving.

Intended to hang from a hook on a ceiling.

It appears to be unsigned- we have not identified the maker.

It is very finely carved.

Depicting People and a Bird- it looks like a Transformation Carving. Possibly a Transforming Shaman.

One side is carved with a Mother and Child – the other side has a shamanic face.

Length / Wingspan: 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm)

Width: 1 1/2 inches (4 cm)

Height: 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm)

One face may have a crack- we aren’t sure if this is damage or not.

There is some minor overall wear from age and gentle handling- possibly some edge chipping.

Otherwise, it is in Very Good Condition.

9.  Set of 6 1890s Alaskan Marine Ivory Knives in Original Case – A.J. Mueller, Nome, Alaska

Item Price: $175

Item Description: This is a wonderful Set of 6 1890s Alaskan Ivory Knives in their Original Fitted Case.

The case bears the name of “A.J. Mueller Leading Jeweller Nome, Alaska”.

There are examples of Mueller’s Gold Nugget jewelry online.

The bottom of the case has American Patent Dates from the 1890s (the last digit of the years is obscured, but ‘189’ can be made out).

Marine Ivory – probably Walrus.

Finely carved – the handles have bevelled edges.

The Knives are Solid Ivory.

Each measures 5 3/8 inches (13.5 cm) in length

All six are identical.

A fine and highly collectible piece of Alaskan Gold Rush era history.

All Six Knives are in Excellent, Clean Condition- it looks like they have never been used.

The Case has a stain on the outer lid and some minor overall wear from age and handling.

10.  Antique Old Sheffield Fused Plate Neoclassical Silverplate Coffee Pot

Item Description: Antique Old Sheffield Plate Neoclassical Silverplate Coffee Pot.

Fused Silverplate – this method of silver-plating predates electroplating.

English, late 18th century – early 19th century.

Elegant Neoclassical shape.

Wooden handle.

Beautifully made flat hinge at top.

Finely engraved with floral decoration around the top and around the family crest.

A true work of art. It is quite fascinating to examine its construction.

Perfect for a Georgian dining room sitting on a neoclassical style sideboard.

Height: about 11 1/4 inches

Length from Spout to Handle: 11 3/4 inches

It is a Very Large and Substantial Coffee Pot.

The wooden handle wobbles slightly.

There is some wear to the plating in some areas (blushing).

The interior could use some cleaning.

Otherwise, it is in Very Good Condition.

11.  Original 1953 Arch Dale Winnipeg Free Press Newspaper Editorial Cartoon Illustration – CPR interest

Item Price: $395

Item Description: This is an Original 1953 Winnipeg Free Press Editorial Cartoon Illustration drawn by Arch Dale.

Original Pen Drawing.

Dated January 10, 1953.

By Arch Dale (1882-1962)- an freelance artist who worked for the Winnipeg Free Press newspaper for several decades before retiring in 1954.

He also created the comic strip The Doo Dads.

Arch Dale’s editorials appeared in the Free Press for many years.

Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) themed cartoon editorial.

The reverse is dated “Jan 10/53” with Free Press Editorial Page publication notations, etc.

Size: 22 inches by 14 1/2 inches

Provenance: Private Estate (Roslyn Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba). Purchased from the estate of the owner who apparently received the illustration from Mr. Dale.

Minor edge wear / staining from age and handling.

Otherwise Good Condition.

First part of the 20th century.

With postage stamp and postmark- sent to Vancouver, BC.

5 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches.

Wear to corners, lower margin, and left margin.

Otherwise Very Good Condition.

13.  Antique 19th Century Swiss Enamel Portrait Brooch in 14K Mount – Veiled Lady with Flower

Item Description: This is a stunningly beautiful 19th Century Swiss Enamel Portrait Brooch in 14k Yellow Gold Mount.

Switzerland, mid to late 19th Century.

Geneva Enamel.

The Portrait is Superbly Painted. A Lady wearing a Black Veil holding a Flower up to her nose.

The colors are bright and vibrant- her black lace veil is extremely delicate and the flowers on her dress seem to pop out.

Excellent Quality.

A piece of jewelry that is truly a work of art!

Size: 2 3/16 inches (55 mm) by 2 1/4 inches (57 mm). A Large Brooch.

The clasp is an old replacement but is in good working condition- the brooch closes tightly and securely.

No monograms or initials.

Unmarked, but acid tested as 14K Gold.

It weighs 15.9 grams.

There are some surface scratches on the enamel front (not chips, just scratches. The scratches are more noticeable under bright light, such as in our photo studio).

The Back of the brooch has some chipping around the edge (not visible when worn).

It is in Otherwise Very Good Condition- there are no other condition issues or damage.

14.  Antique Georgian Watch Cock Necklace- English 18th Century Fusee Pocket Watch Parts – Stunning

Item Price: $275

Item Description: This is a gorgeous Antique Georgian Gilt Brass Watch Cock Necklace.

Comprised of 9 Hand Engraved Gilt Brass English Georgian period 18th Century Watch Cocks from Fusee Pocket Watches.

Belcher chain.

The clasp is also made from a Georgian watch cock.

Gilt Brass.

Each Watch Cock is completely unique. All are intricately pierced and beautifully hand engraved- some with faces, birds, etc.

They are mini works of art!

This necklace was no doubt assembled in Victorian times from then-obsolete Georgian watch parts.

Wearable Length of Necklace: about 15 1/4 inches (39 cm)

Approximate Size of Each Watch Cock: 7/8 of an inch by 1 3/8 inches (2 cm by 3.5 cm).

The clasp works very well- it closes tightly and securely.

No monograms or initials.

A fabulous and unique antique necklace!

There is some very minor surface wear from age and gentle handling. The reverse side of the clasp has some surface wear.

It is in Otherwise Excellent Condition.

15.  Antique Coral Necklaces (3)

Item Description: Beautiful Antique Coral Necklaces.

Sold Individually and Priced Separately – labelled A, B, C.

Antique Victorian Red Coral Necklace. Older shaped beads – they are not perfectly round and uniform.

Barrel clasp – probably Gold Filled. It works well.

Length: Approximately 17 1/2 inches (44.5 cm).

It has been restrung with modern plastic cord – the original end caps are hanging near the clasp.

As a result, it does not lay flat. It is all wobbly and needs restringing on proper cord.

Length of Coral: Approximately 17 1/2 inches (44.5 cm).

Overall Very Good Condition.

B. Antique Victorian Coral Necklace. Round Graduated Beads. Slightly more Pink than Necklace A.

Barrel clasp – probably Gold Filled. It works well.

Graduated size Beads. Lovely.

Length of Coral: Approximately 20 1/4 inches (51.25 cm).

It lays beautifully and is perfectly wearable.

Excellent Condition.

C. Antique Coral Necklace. Round Graduated Beads. Slightly more Red than Necklace B.

Art Deco “Hercules” trademark clasp set with paste stone (similar to the clasp on a pearl necklace).

Graduated size Beads.

Length of Coral: Approximately 17 1/2 inches (44.5 cm).

The necklace is slightly kinked and may need restringing.

Otherwise Excellent Condition.
