Item Description: Pair Bronzed Bookends American of Appeal to the Great Spirit

#1 This is a pair of statues, bookends of a Chief in full feather headdress, riding bareback, arms spread with palms up. It is signed with one stamp a copyright C in a circle the initial CED. Cyrus E Dallin made a bronze for the Museum of Fine Art in Boston in 1908. These were made in 1935 by JB Jennings. Titled “Appeal To The Great Spirit”. Both are in good condition, they each measures 6 ½ inches tall the base measures 5 ½ x 3 ¼ inches.

#2 Bifurcated coil yucca basket with figures of 5 woman in skirts decorate this basket inside and out. It is finely woven with 4 rows of bundles per inch. It is lightly flares in shape and is in fairly good condition, some wear on the bottom, and the two bottom rows, light discolor from use. Circa 1920 this Southwest Basket Native American possibly Pima, measures 4 ¼ inches tall x 6 ½ inches wide.

Item Description: Spanish Colonial Silver Side Saddle Stirrup

#3 Made of heavy gauge sterling silver from the mid 19th century, unmarked. This outstanding hand crafted stirrup for a lady in South America, is from an equestrian family, for riding side saddle. It is decorated with pierced and repousse birds, fabulous workmanship, and engraved borders. Circa 1860, it is made in a traditional style, they were made as a single, not made in pairs. It has a hinged action, the rectangle loop is made to hold the leather strap, it tips up for the woman to slip her foot into the silver shoe. In good condition it measures 8 ¾ inches long x 4 inches wide and weighs over a pound, about 480 grams.

#4 Sometime called a COPA, it is a standing cup a chalice from Latin America possibly Peru. It has Lama, Alpaca figure on each handle. It has a decorated leaf design around the cup. It is made from low grade silver, or white brass, I would call it white metal. It is a devotional sacred cup from 1880. It stands 10 inches tall x 7 inches wide from handle tip to tip.

# 5 Classic Georgian English decanter flagon, bottle with a silver plate collar and old cork stopper. It has a fabulous cobalt blue hand blown glass bottle, with a roughly polished pontil. It shows honest wear on the bottom from use. The collar is unmarked and is decorated with foliage and beaded borders.
In good condition it stands 8 ½ inches tall. In good condition, the cork is degrading.

Item Description: Athabascan Native Beaded Fringed Shirt Coat C. 1900

#6 This native made Shirt has a good overall look and is extra long and large. It is made from a smoked deer hide, with glass floral transparent and opaque glass beads. It has an old cotton inside printed collar. It is in original estate condition, no changes have been made. It has not been cleaned, it is very dirty, missing some buttons, some beads are loose and missing a few. A piece of the beadwork panel on the front has 5 inches missing on the bottom.

It measures:

Collar to bottom, 34 inches
Sleeve length, 24 inches
Chest across front, 24 inches

Circa 1900, it is from Northern Canada, Sub Arctic, Athabascan, Athapascan tribal language group.

Item Description: Northern Plains Beaded Chaps Leggings RED Trade Cloth

#7 Made from Hudson’s Bay blanket and beaded panels on trade cloth. This is a handsome pair of leggings or chaps, to be worn on top of your trousers. They are simply made with red wool from a three point Hudson’s bay blanket, knotted together with leather laces. They are each decorated with a panel of beadwork that is done on navy blue trade cloth. The glass beads are opaque turquoise blue, navy blue, rosy red and white, the panel measures 12 ½ inches wide x 7 ¼ inches tall. The chaps measures overall 30 inches long. In good condition, there are some old bug bits in the beadwork fabric.

This is a 19th century English Pottery black transfer ware with pink lustre pained design. It has an impressed mark on the bottom, “Dixon Phillips and Co” partial strike with impressed anchor. The bottom view is A West View of the Cast Iron Bridge over the River Wear It also has the Mariners Compass, Mariners Arms, Verses, The Sailors Tears, and more. It is 12 inches wide and 4 ½ inches tall. It has light wear, along the bottom rim inside, and outside along the middle edge. It has a good sounding ring. Showing no chips or repairs. The River Wear runs through Sunderland, North East England.

#10 This is a pair of hand carved figures of a Lady and a Man offering food. The man is bearded holding a full bowl, the lady is holding a platter or tray, with a cloth draped along her arms. She is wearing a crown. Made by the Indigenous people of Far East of Russia by the Chukchi Sea, the Eskimo and the Chukchi developed the Art of Bone Carving. Possibly figures from a story or legend. They each have the original labels on the base. The man stands 4 inches tall, the lady stands 3 ½ inches tall. Both in good condition Circa 1950 – 70. Made from bone.

# 12 This is an original 19th century Russian Inkwell, a grand piece made of gold gilt Ormolu brass mounted on sheets of natural green malachite stone, with two lidded faceted glass inkwell pots. It has a gold gilt ormolu recumbent Greyhound dog wearing a collar. It has a long shallow well along the front to hold a nib quill pen. It sits in a cradle of four claw feet with an ornate border. It has a wooden base that is held together with bolts and screws.
This piece has a look of opulence, it must of come from a high status family.
It is very heavy it weighs about 10.5 lbs, and measures 11 x 9 inches and stands 5 ¾ inches tall.

Item Description: PAIR Bohemian Perfume Bottles Cranberry Cased Glass Moser

# 13 These are attributed to Moser Glassworks. They are Bohemian Czechoslovakian Scent Bottles for perfume. They have a white cased glass overlay over a contrasting red cranberry glass, that has been fused together then layer cut, faceted. Then gold hand painted borders and decoration throughout. Some of the gold has been worn off. The good thing is that they are an original pair, and have their original stoppers. One stopper sits lower in the top. There are in good condition, showing no cracks or chips. I did see a flaw in the white. Circa 1850 – 1880. Victorian Era. One stands 8 ½ inches, the other 9 inches tall. About 4 ½ inches wide.

Item Description: 19th C. Needlework Jewellery Box Girl w/ Red Dress

#14 It is a sewing box or jewellery box, with a wonderful hand embroidered needle point, petite point scene of a girl going for a walk in the forest with a long cane, wearing a red dress with a white dog running behind her. The box lid simply open, the interior has remnants of a paper lining. The wood inside looks like cedar or fir. There is a small drawer on the bottom, with a black knob. The drawer is constructed with two dove tails and nails added later. It is cover with a flamed light mahogany, there are cracks in the veneer. Circa 1860 possibly Canadian or American or at least English. It measures 7 ¾ x 7 ¾ x 6 ¾ inches tall.

This is a large bowl 6 inches across, 5 inches tall. It has a simple straight edge, quite thick clay. The color is a lively red, light to dark, dripping along the edges. Throughout a crackling look. It is signed DEXTER in bold sgraffito in the stoneware clay. Good condition.

This is a fabulous large plate 10 ½ inches across, with a relaxed abstract zen brush work design, every way you turn it, it looks different, between a prehistoric animal rock painting, to blossoms on a branch. It has a ashen subtle red , purple, gray into brown. It is signed DEXTER on the back, in bold letters, sgraffito into the clay. Good condition.

# 17 Made from layer of paper then black lacquer, it was popular in the mid 19th century. This large tray originally would have sat on a folding table legs. It is exquisitely hand painted with exotic passion flowers and roses, with hanging gold foliage dripping from the top. There is damage on the back in five places. Overall a good look to the front. It measure 30 x 23 inches. Circa 1850 English.

These are not to be overlooked. Made in Gujarat Indian for the Dutch Colonial market, a pair of square hand blown glass decanters with merchant sailing ships in full sail, hand painted enamel. They each have a polished pontil with lots of honest scratches from use over the years. It originally was decorated with more gold paint, mostly worn off. The stoppers are original. There are numbers on the bottom # 2 and 4. They could of come from a set of 4 from a ships Tantalus box. Circa 1780 – 1850. In good condition. Some light mineral residue inside. Worn gold decoration. Measures 9 ½ inches tall with stopper 3 ¾ inches wide.

# 20 A unique piece of primitive art, Sailors Art or an early primitive toy. It is dedicated to ARLEEN, it is inscribed with the man on the moon, swan, long snake, another bird, flowers in a pot, and a goose. . It has wriggle work border top and bottom. Inside there are 8 segments with chips of glass, gem stone colours. Red, green, yellow, and clear. It has a tiny hole to look through. Opaque glass hand cut on the end. It measures 10 ¾ inches long, x 2 ¾ wide, the looking glass is 1 inch wide. It appears to be a telescope, but once you put it to your eye it is a kaleidoscope. Circa 1780 – 1850. North American.

It is very heavy solid cast bronze, there is no pendulum ringer right now. There is a loop for one. It stands 8 ½ inches tall x 5 inches wide.

# 22 Gebruder and Heubach worked together 1882 – 1915 in Thuringia Germany. It has the mark of an impressed mark sunburst with a monogrammed GH, then d e p. It depicts a lovely pure white bisque porcelain dog, begging, with the shaggy fur, painted eyes, nose, and collar. It looks like a Bichon or Bolognese dog. It stand 9 inches tall and is in good condition, showing no chips or cracks.
