FOUND ALONG THE WAY
I really enjoy getting out and looking for that elusive treasure. My other passion is researching the items that I find. That’s almost as much fun.
I love one of a kinds whether it’s a painting, a piece of sculpture, folk art or what have you. I want to know that someone has touched it.
As you will see with the items I have listed art is a real passion for me..hope I can pass it on.
Hopefully one of the treasures I have found can find a home with someone that visits during the show……so welcome and enjoy

1. CARLTONWARE CHINOISERIE NEW MIKADO LUSTRE BLUE CANDLEHOLDERS
Item Description: Carltonware has some pretty interesting patterns and this is definitely one example. The colours are absolutely fabulous and the theme makes it even more interesting. I believe the pattern number is 2728 or 2128 (New Mikado). They stand approx. 10.5” tall and were made in around 1920. The pattern itself is very collectible and these are very hard to find. Overall in excellent condition with very slight rubbing on the gold in a couple of places.
2. OIL ON BOARD “CLEARING IN THE FOREST” UNSIGNED ROBERT SIMPSON GALLERIES.
Item Price: $175CAN $140US
Item Description: Still cannot figure out why artists don’t sign their work. I believe this painting is likely somewhere around the 1940 era by the Robert Simpson tag on the back. A recent find I didn’t want to take it apart to see if there was a signature on the back. A beautiful little painting 9” x 7.5” it could fit anywhere.
Don’t forget it is so much nicer when it is original.
3. STERLING SILVER DEMITASSE SPOON SET OF SIX “FOR HOME AND COUNTRY”
Item Price: $105CAN $85US
Item Description: These sterling spoons were produced by the International Silver Co. and weigh about 11 grams each and are approx. 4.5” long.
I am not one hundred percent on the “For Home and Country” designation I believe it is for the Women’s Institute but this was also used during the First World War to stir patriotism and raise funds.
Regardless a very nice collectible.
4. MID-CENTURY MODERN OAK AND GLASS SIDE TABLE
Item Price: $275CAN
Item Description: The information I received regarding this table was that it was made in the late sixties as a wedding gift. The person that made it spent a lot of time putting this together and designing the shape and look. It is about 24” long and high and about 13” in depth. In very good condition including the glass this would make a wonderful addition to your home.
TEA SERVICE NOT INCLUDED…BUT AVAILABLE
DUE TO BREAKAGE CONCERNS AND COSTS THIS ITEM IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE GTA…WHERE IT CAN BE PICKED UP OR DROPPED OFF FOR A SMALL FEE.

Item Description:The blue in this Rosenthal Charger is absolutely amazing. The plate itself is approx. 13” and it is in perfect condition. This particular design was completed in the 1970s and has a very modernist feel to it. This would make a wonderful addition to any Rosenthal or blue and white collection….it will certainly stand out.
6. POWELL BISHOP STONER LARGE ORIENTAL IVORY HONG KONG PATTERN PLATTER
Item Price: $99can $78us
Item Description: With Thanksgiving coming up this would make a wonderful addition to your table and afterwards would also display very well. It is about 18.5” x 16” and overall has had very light use. This particular transferware pattern was produced in around 1880 in England.
I know you will enjoy it….so take it home

12. C. J. TRAVERS “RURAL HOMESTEAD WOODBRIDGE ONTARIO”
Item Price: $595CAN $475US
Item description: A great painting painted by an artist that will definitely increase in value as time passes but for now will be a nice addition to your Canadian collection. The painting is about 19” x 17”. A moment in time forever captured. Appears to be an early summer day with a mixture of the blue sky and varied greens. C. J. Travers was known more for his prints and watercolours than for oils but this makes the work even more desirable. The painting though has that slight leaning toward a watercolour feel…..well enough said why not take it home and enjoy it yourself.
13. SCOTTISH BROOCH ROBERT ALLISON VIKING SHIP FULLY HALMARKED
Item Description: A very nice well taken care of brooch from Scotland
Fully Hallmarked with RA and 1953 date mark. It appears that he liked the Viking theme as he seems to have crafted quite a few. This has a delicate look to it, not large just over an inch but it looks great and is different than the run of the mill offering.
14. FELT AND FEATHER BIRDS (12) CHRISTMAS DECORATION
Item Price: $97CAN $77US
Item Description: From my research these little guys originally came as a premium in Lipton Tea in the early 1960’s. Around the same time period they also had butterflies but they were not as nice as these are. They vary slightly in size but would be around 3” long.
In another show someone suggested using them as Christmas decorations and I think that’s a great idea. Each of the birds have wire on their feet so they can be attached to a branch….we use them in our flower pots. I am selling them as a group (you might as well have a flock) have more if you’re interested. Please note the nest is not included and the birds for sale are the ones in the main pictures only.
