FOUND ALONG THE WAY
I really enjoy getting out and looking for that elusive treasure. My other passion is researching the items that I find. That’s almost as much fun.
I love one of a kinds whether it’s a painting, a piece of sculpture, folk art or what have you. I want to know that someone has touched it.
As you will see with the items I have listed art is a real passion for me..hope I can pass it on.
Hopefully one of the treasures I have found can find a home with someone that visits during the show……so welcome and enjoy

#1 F. TIDEMAND JOHANNESSEN NORWAY MID CENTURY COLOUR WOODCUTS (12)
Item Price: $580 CAN $460 US
Item Description: This is an absolutely amazing group of woodcuts from an established Norwegian artist. The set is based on the 12 months of the year and each one is 39cm x 30cm (approx. 15 ” x 12″. The woodcuts themselves are in excellent condition and are ready to frame. The portfolio cover is damaged. The paper is 150 gr offset paper.
I have pictures of all of the woodcuts but I am limited to four pictures here so if you wish to see the rest just ask and I will send them.
#2 STERLING SILVER STAMP HOLDER Albert E. Jones (1870-1954) AEJ 1908 CHESTER
Item Price: $119 CAN $95 US
Item Description: This is a very charming stamp holder that could either be used as a necklace pendent or as a charm. Yes it has some bumps on it but it just adds to the charm. Fully hallmarked including the main section, the door and even the chain holder. There appears to be a name scratched on the inside of the door but I can’t make it out. Add this nice little item to your treasures. It measures approx. a little under 1″ x a little over 1″.
#3 A. C. LEIGHTON (CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM THE RED WILLOW 1937) PRINT ON SILK
Item Price: $175 CAN $140 US
Item Description: It took a while to ID this but I ended up getting some help on one of the Facebook ID sites….anyway this needs to be re-framed, matted and cleaned but in the end it will become a jewel. The frame I believe is period oak and personally would leave this part. With the frame it is approx. 8″ x 6″. I am not certain of the process of printing but appears to be on silk.
#4 BRITISH MADE UNION JACK 47″ X 33″ UNUSED
Item Price: $120 CAN $95 US
Item Description: OK so your thinking I saw this in the last show, well you did but not the same one; I had two. So don’t miss out on this one. It is marked “BRITISH MADE” and although there are some marks from folding and storage it has not been used. The flag is 47″ x 33″. Ready to fly or display. The flag is a printed flag not sewn and likely from the 1950’s or early 60’s
#5 POTTERY SWAG LAMP 1960’S MID CENTURY GREEN
Item Price: $175 CAN $139 US
Item Description: This swag will transform your room from 2021 to the 1960’s….mad man style. I could not find a maker but I think it has the look of Quebec in the 1960’s. It is approx. 14.5″ long and the chain/wire is approx. 7′. The electrical appears to be in good working condition ready to use. It has been tested.
#6 SHEAFFER CALENDAR DESK SET AND PENS BLACK BASE
Item Price: $99 CAN $80 US
Item Description: This is a very nice 1950’s or early 60’s Desk Set. Made by Schaeffer, the base is made in the States and the pens are from here. The pens are the periscope style refill, white dot and the nibs are 14 K Gold. The rolodex style Calendar works well. The base is approx. 10.5″ x 6.5″ and as can be seen in the main photo there is a mark near the centre and another to the right. They are not chips, they actually stick up. It still looks great.
#7 LIFE AND WORK OF EDWIN AUSTIN ABBEY VOL. 1 & 2 FIRST EDITION R.A.E.V. LUCAS
Item Price: $125 CAN $100 US
Item Description: The etchings in this set are absolutely amazing. I believe this set was limited to 1000 and printed in 1921. The books themselves are complete but not perfect…the inside of the books though are very good. I personally am not a book collector so if you require any further information please ask. I am limited to the amount of pictures so if you require more please ask and I can send them to your email.
#8 PAUL PHILLIPE (POLISH, 1870–1930) IMPRESSIONIST SEASIDE SCENE
Item Price: $1550 CAN 1250 US
Item Description: Paul Phillipe is much better known for his sculpture than for his painting but as you can see his painting was very good. There is some damage to the period frame which would have likely been around 1890’s. The scene pulls you in …you want to be there. The painting itself is actually in very good condition. Size including the frame is 31″ x 24″
#9 SOAPSTONE CARVING KILOPAK (KILLUPA QINFALI) PERIGRINE/GYRFALCON
Item Price: $115 CAN $95 US
Item Description: This is a really nice carving by Inuit Artist Kilopak, also known as Killupa Qinfali. He was born in 1934. He has really captured the intensity of a bird of prey. The bird stands about 7″ tall and overall in good condition with a couple of very minor bumps. I believe this is from the late 1970’s or early 80’s but not one hundred percent.
#10 VINTAGE BRASS DOCUMENT BOX AND LETTER HOLDER
Item Price: $119 CAN $95
Item Description: I have had a hard time with this one. I have not been able to find a comparable but I believe it is likely from the 1940’s ( please correct me if I am wrong…everyone has to learn). Both items have an Art Nouveau/Craftsman look to them and they are made very well. These would make a nice addition to your home office. The box is approx. 8.5″ x 5.5″ and the letter holder is just over 5″.
#11 HARRY SUTCLIFFE THREE PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTS BRITISH R-100 DIRIGIBLE 1930’S
Item Price: $149 CAN $120
Item Description: I have listed other Sutcliffe prints before and these particular ones are from the same group. They are original period prints and not commercial reproductions. Each is a different scene with the R-100 likely near Montreal. Each picture is approx. 8″ x 10″. If you have any questions please ask.
#12 ANTIQUE PEWTER PLATES AND CHARGERS GROUP OF 6 PLATES
Item Price: $119 CAN $95
Item Description: These plates all have the “B” stamp in a shield but I have not been able to find the maker. This group consists of two different designs. Octagonal and Scalloped edges. The octagonal group has two 9″ and one 12″ and the scalloped group has one 9″ and two 12″. They are in good antique condition with wonderful colour.
#13 INTERNATIONAL SILVER CO. SOUP TUREEN AND LADLE
Item Price $95 CAN $77 US
Item Description: I believe number mark on the bottom is the date of manufacture which would be 1939. The Tureen is about 8″ wide and about 8″ tall. Overall in very nice condition but it does need a good shine. This would make a great addition to any fancy dinner …whenever those happen again.
#14 ANTIQUE YAPP AND WOODWARD STERLING RATTLE 1854 BIRMINGHAM
Item Price: $490 CAN $395 US
Item Description: This is a wonderful example of a Victorian Teether. It has six little bells a whistle and a pink coral teether. Overall size is approx. 11 cm. The item is very well Hallmarked with maker and sterling marks and dates. Some light rubbing as can be seen in the pictures. If you are a collector this is the one to get and if it is a gift then this will be perfect. Either way you will be happy. Because of the value of this item it is shipped requiring signature on arrival.
#15. C. J. TRAVERS “RURAL HOMESTEAD WOODBRIDGE ON.” OIL 1930-40’S
Item Price: $725 CAN $575 US
Item Description: A great painting painted by an artist that will definitely move up in value as time passes. A moment in time forever captured. Appears to be an early summer day with a mixture of the blue sky and varied greens. C. J. TRAVERS (1887-1954) was known more for his prints and watercolours than for oils but this makes this painting even more desirable. The painting has a slight leaning toward the watercolour side….well, enough said why not take it home and enjoy it yourself.
